they'll get to the playoffs and for sure and will most likely play either the spurs or jazz
they can beat the jazz no problem and in a tougher series can go either way with the spurs
The laker team has done very well when everyone is healthy, the problem is that hasn't happened very often this season

I don't think so. Look at what they were playing with, first opening season Kobe Bryant was out and was able to win big games. Then Lamar Odom goes down and still able to win games, Luke Walton, Kwame Brown, Vladimir Radmonovic, Chris Mhim key players that has been out. And yet they hold a 33-25 record, they are holding their ground. The only thing that slumped them was that 6 game losing streak, if they were to win all those they would of been up to 40 wins by now. Im not worried at all with the Lakers, they will go to the Playoffs and hopefully play against Phoenix Suns, or move into the 5th seed and play Utah Jazz. They have proved that they can beat the top four teams in the West. Hopefully everyone gets healthy before the Playoffs, so that they can get their basketball legs back and ready to play.

For sure they’ll go to the playoffs, but win??? I’m thinking if they get a high seed, like 4 or 5, they will advance to the west semifinals, but to beat the Suns or Maves they would need Brown and Luke healthy and both Kobe and Odom back 100%, (They are not yet 100%, Kobe is like 90% and Odom is like 75%). Plus the bench would need to do allot more. But with Kobe are there leader and Phil as a coach, anything is possible. With all injuries aside, they are like the 5th best team! (FYI, the Lakers were hot the beginning of the season, but because of injuries they couldn’t close out the first half like the top teams did).

The Lakers always play to their level of competition. They lose to the sub-par teams and beat the better teams. They have been also hurt by injuries taking away from the chemistry they had rolling in the beginning of the season. Kwame, Lamar, Mims, Walton (All our BIG men) being out have hurt the Lakers interior defense as well. And now with Radmonavich doing what he did (taking another 3 pt shooter out) is really going to affect us. Lastly, that 6 game losing skid they went on was due to all the trade talks with Jason Kidd, since they trade deadline, they're 3-0. So hopefully they could focus back on finishing out strong. I think with Phil Jackson mixing it up letting some of the veterans play to scare the younger ones into being more focused. I love the Lakers. But the bottom line is unless everyone can come back healthy with at least 15 games left in the season to get the chemistry rolling, they're out first round (unless they play Houston, or San Antonio). It would be nice to see them get at least a 4th seed, so they could play the Clippers or Seattle, but we'll see. The last 10 to 15 games of the season will tell.

I think they can definitely get out of the first round this year, especially if they face Utah. They just proved the other night that they can beat Utah in Utah (never an easy thing to do), and they match up well with the Jazz. Granted, as a Laker fan, I hate to see them go up against .4 D-Fish, but I think a series against Utah would go six games in the Laker's favor.
If they face San Antonio in the first round, I think they've got a decent shot. If by some miracle Phoenix stumbles and the Lakers take the Pacific division, then they could go all the way...

They will definately go to the playoffs. The will win 1 and maybe the first 2 rounds. They might even get lucky and play phoenix who I think they can beat in a 7 game series. The only trouble they will have is if they play either Dallas or San Antonio. Other than that they have a good shot.

Kobe still has no supporting cast. Odom is still unproven beyond the 1st round while the rest are bit players. Who on the Lakers attracted trade interest??? And Pippen's name has been mentioned as a possible Laker? A retired 40+ former player. I think Kobe will do a great job if he can get his team beyond the 1st round.

They have Kobe Bryant, that's all you need to know. He can easily take over the 4th quarter and even the whole game. Plus he has enough supporting cast to help him win when hes not on fire. It's not like hes going to dominate every game. As long as Kobe turns it on for half of their games in the series, they should be able to win every single one like that. The furture is great though. Bynum and Walton will become a great cast with Odom and Kobe

Playoffs? Yes. Western Division Championship? No.
Kupchak needed to do something…anything…to improve L.A.'s depth for the playoffs.
No trades. Same bench. Buh-bye.

No, because Kobe still has to deal with younger players. Kobe is sometimes selfish over the ball; so that may cause an early defeat in the first round in the west. They may go as far as the semifinals in the west, otherwise, don't expect them to go to the finals and win it.
