I clickes on the local area connection status and ,repair, says window couldnt finish the program because the following action cannot be completed; renewing your IP address .....? whats that mean?

That means other IPs are not responding.

This means that the computer first removed your computers IP address and tried to get another one from a router/ access point. However the router is either is very busy or refused to send an assign an Ip adress to your computer so your computer did not sucessfully connect to the access point. usually if you restart your computer or restart the router it should fix this problem.
You should only use this if you have a yellow exlamation point that says little or limited conenction.

your computer cannot attain an internet protocol address(ip)from your internet service provider....make sure all cables are plugged in securely
If they are contact your ISP...could be a connectivity problem in your area

That has happened to me before....all i did was disconnect and re-connect the local area network...

That means that your internet might have been gone for a while or your internet administrator might have disabled your internet connection.
