if a tenant is past the 5 day grace period alotted by law what the maximum dollar amount that the landlord can charge for a daily late fee?

It is set by state law, county law or city ordinance. Check with your county.

Here in Florida the grace period is 3 days, after which the landlord can evict, or charge a late fee. Landlord can choose which. Late fees are always stated in the lease, and can range anywhere from about $25.00 for each day the rent is late, to half the amount of the rent due. If you get as far as 10 days late, eviction is certain.

well i think if you pay your rent by the month your landlord can not
ask you to move out by law for thirty day's, and i think it just depends on your landlord! i think thy can charge what thy want as far as a late fee!! but I'm sure there is a limit !!and i would check into that before i gave him a big late fee!!as far as a grace
period did you sign a lease?if no lease well i don't think your landlord can do anything legally
