I am the son of a man from NewZealand.(I am white by the way not Maori). NewZealand is an island in the pacific. Then technically wouldnt I be a pacific islander. In which that case, doesnt that entitle me to a special scholarship.

No. Because the scholarship probably refers to someone who is ethnically a pacific islander. You are from European ancestry therefore you do not qualify.
