GOSUB tells a program to move to a different line number specified by the GOSUB (ie GOSUB 20 = go to line 20) and start executing from that point. RETURN returns the program to line number following the previous GOSUB.

Board Exam in Basic?? That's real old school (1971).

GOSUB sends the program to a sub routine elsewhere in the program.
RETURN sends the program back to the next command after the GOSUB routine.

GOSUB takes you inside a specified sub routine and RETURN takes u back to the statement following the GOSUB statement.
