No, they may all steal features, but thats just being smart. If it works and people like it then use it. The insides are what is different. Just looking in on the different operating systems, they are all pretty much the same, they all have a nice user interface, they generally use similar types of applications. Its how it gets those visual things done that is the big difference.

And how all of the operating systems get things done in today are for the most part pretty good. The thing Ms has going for it is support. Windows has the biggest driver database of all, you can pick up a phone and call any computer place and get answers.

No, Microsoft is not Linux. Windows is not built upon any form of Unix, although Mac OS X is built upon BSD, which is another form of Unix. Windows would be much more stable if it was Unix based, that's for sure.
