I am fighting for custody of my three children. I am having to work in two different courts because there are two fathers involved. I am currently getting screwed by the system. I need a lawyer BAD!! Legal Aid here is not taking any new cases. The lawyers here aren't taking pro bono cases unless Legal Aid assigns them.

I am now having to fight just to see my kids and no one will tell me why!

Does anyone know where I can find a lawyer who will represent me for free and can help me get my kids back?

I don't have custody of my children right now because I was laid off of my job due to importation. I have a job and a home waiting for me in my home state of Texas. That is where my family is. Also, my husband is lying to the courts. The judge will not let me submit the proof I have that he is lying. I have spoken with Legal Aid and they agree that something is wrong with what's happening.

As far as being a f*** up, I have worked hard to provide for my children. I am NOT a dead beat. I have been trying to get a job in this area that pays enough to meet all my obligations. McDonald's wont.

Legal Aid is completely full. They have 3 lawyers servicing 7 counties. I have called all the lawyers in the phone book, it's either a $2500 retainer fee or they won't bother with you.

My ex-husband works for the 911 system and knows all the police and the judges in that city. My current husband has a family that is willing to put second mortgages on their houses to grease pockets.

You don't know why you don't have custody or visitation rights with your children? OK, well, all you can do is get out the phone book and call every lawyer in it. Tell them your story and be honest, tell them what you income is, and ask them if they will help you. You can contact your state's bar associations they may be able to better help you.
If you don't have a job, get one, maybe even get two. You get what you pay for and that stands for attorneys too. What ever do, DO NOT RELY ON OTHERS TO GET YOU WHAT YOU NEED. You will have to do the work yourself.
I don't know your situation and I don't mean to offend but, if you can't see your kids, there is a reason. If you don't know what that reason is, look at yourself and your life. It is kind of difficult for a mother to lose custody of her children unless she's a real **** up. Maybe a lifestyle change is what you need. Good luck to you.

I am an independent associate for a company and for $26 a month, you can have access to a lawyer. Because this is a child custody case, you might have to pay a little more to the lawyer. but it will not be anywhere near $2500. It is worth taking a look at, oh and the lawyer will do the work in 2 courts for you. It really might help and for $26, it is worth it. You get some of the top lawyers in the state, which is much better than legal aid. Anyway, I can send you the site today and if you decide you want it, you can sign up online right away and be able to contact the lawyer tomorrow. Let me knwo. I hope this helps and I wish the luck!

I am sorry to hear of this truly unjust situation you are going through and while I can not offer an answer to your question, I would like to respond to the response with regard to paying $26 dollars a month for legal services, if this is some type of pre-paid legal services, don't waste your money, it is only a pre-paid attorney listing, which you can obtain free in all states and while you will have to pay the money monthly, more than likely you will still have to shell out the retainer fees you have spoken of, in that regard, keep your money in your pocket and you will definitely find something better to do with it. Also the only one that gains from the $26 dollars a month is the representative of the company the sells it to you. I pray that all works out for you and your family, but don't throw your money away.

Legal aid should take your case in an emergency situation like this being you are low income of course. You did no tdefine reasons in detail and getting a friend or relative to sign in agreement to pay a lawyer for you will help

yea, unfortunately legal aid stoped taking in free cases because they are so swamped with it all, lawyers stopped taking pro bono cases because there are way too many people asking for it

so yea, look for a cheap lawyer instead of a free one, because you are not going to find a free one, but you will have a better chance at finding a cheap one
