A civial Union does not carry the same rights as marriage does. One of the BIGGEST group that does not want same sex marriage is the Insurance Industry. A legal same sex marriage will force jobs to insure the spouse. A civial union does not allow for that.

Basically that's what it is, a CIVIL UNION.
Being married by a Priest or a minister is more of a religious union.
I think they should just keep it as a civil union, most religions don't even acknowledge gay marriages. It's a sin. So why would gay's want to be married through a church??

You can't change what's in the bible. Although these days people sure are.

Yes gay people should be allowed to marry. The only reason non gay people have a problem with this is because they think that it is destroying the traditon of marraige, which in fact it is the non gay people who are the ones making the problems by putting there noses where it does not belong and making this seem like a big problem in which they bring on themselves. They are making it seem that being gay is politily incorrect because they think that being in a gay relationship or marriage affects the non gay couple, but in all reality, they are the ones bringing the problems into their own marriages by judgeing others because most likely they are not happy with whats going on in there lives so they have to destroy someone elses. No one can controll who they fall in love with and it is not a game. Love is something that just happens and you can not change it no matter what. People are people, it dont matter gay or not. I think if everyone would stay out of everyone elses bussiness, then life would be better tolerated. If a man wants to be wed to another man, let him do it and leave him alone. And besides, most people who complain about gay relationships are men, but when they watch porn movies, what is it that most seem to get off on, women on women action. And thats no different then a gay relationship. And another thing is in alot of straight relationships, many men like their women to explore their bodys in numerous ways, and they are not gay, but like to have their woman do this type of stuff, and you just do not know about it. That is no different either except they have women do it to them. So if everyone would just stop judgeing people by their sexualtiy, race, religion, and everything else then maybe we could solve other problems in this world that are actully relivant. If you do not like what someone else is doing in their own personal relationship, then ignor it and leave it alone because it only affects you when you start complaing about it and you just end up dragging yourself in it.

I think there should be an outlet for gays, I don't think marriage is what fits here, but there should be a different status whereby which they should be recognized as partners. And get tax cuts just like everybody else. I do not want the meaning of marriage to be compromised. We gotta keep our words intact in order for them to mean something. I agree a civil union is different than marriage. But I also think extending marriage to fit the homosexual lifestyle makes a mockery out of what marriage represents, it loses its meaning, and soon becomes unnecessary, see what I mean? Some people love to keep it like they always had it. I don't think a civil union makes them look worst than the married people, it just puts things in the right category, don't you think?

No they shouldn't be allowed to get married or adopt kids. It is NOT NATURAL or NORMAL for someone to be like that anyway. Population was made by a man and a woman. They are stopping the human race.

Everyone should be given the right to experience the joys of a happy marriage no matter who they choose to marry.

Yes, marriage is the same as civil union. Infact, 'civil union' is just biggot rhetoric. In my country, homosexuals are allowed to marry and adopt children. I think it's just fine. I do wonder when America will grow up though!
