When you log off, use 'shutdown' to turn your pc off. Never use a switch. If you use 'Power Off', 'Shutdown', you don't need to power off your pc or(PSU) unless you have a UPS or surge protector.

I hope you don't just turn your pc off, henc as switch, you can really mess up alot of things real bad. (i'm being nice)/

You must mean the switch for the power supply. It is safe to leave on.

The purpose of that switch is for safety reasons if you want to open your computer up and fix it.

People carry static electricity and people recomend that you ground your computer before servicing. What that switch does is cut off all power to the computer even if plugged into a working socket. That switch cuts off all and any electristy to the computer.

If you leave it on then electrisity still goes through the computer, but not full electristy like when you turn it on, but just enough electristy to keep your computer clock running and to save your system COMOS. All computers have a small battery inside the computer to help keep track of this but if you use the power supply it will not discharge the little battery inside.
