For some reason, being involved in politics seems to keep people's minds and bodies unusually fit and competent. John McCain was on Letterman tonight, and although he recently turned 70, I sure wish he were in office rather than this younger guy we have now. Age is no proof of anything, one way or another. Competence is competence.

I do appreciate how you feel. When I was a little kid, John F. Kennedy was President. I thought all presidents were supposed to be young, handsome, smart, and witty. Oh, well . . . I have to admit that although I disagreed with him on almost everything, Ronald Reagan taught me new respect for my elders. He knew how to surround himself with competent people, and he was not afraid to take their advice. Again, unlike the current office holder.

There is NO WAY- that a president is ALLOWED to forget anything while he/she is in office, because that thing is ALWAYS in SOMEBODY'S best interest & they're NOT going to let them forget it. If a 65+ year old can survive the process that gets one elected- then she/he can serve- no problem. Age is not the issue. Competence IS. And if I had to choose between a 75 year old who knew what he/she was doing, and a 30 year old who didn't- I'd vote for the old guy- TWICE!!! :)

Tolerance/experience are the top qualities. There are
assistants and records for reminding all nessary things.
No problem upto 80 years age. Running an office is not
like a new marriage.

Well you have a point but it is an individual situation.....should we also say no one under 40 should be president........not enough experience......maybe a window of 15 years....between 45 and 60........thats impossible...some of the smartest people i know are over 65!!!!

Competency is more important than age. Look at what 6 years of incompetency has led to.
