its actually a clay that his mouth forms. He then uses his chakra to control them. He's really big into Explosives, so the clay actually might be a form of explosives.

The Atasuki are all strange working in 2 man teams. What until you see deidras teammate. that's a pretty sweet fight(manga).
Another team is the Immortals, like stated above, there is a guy you can't kill. Along with a guy that you have to kill multiple times to actually kill him. Then Itachi and his teammate, i forgot his name, but he's one of the 7 swordsmen. The rest we don't know about quite yet, tho i think there is a guy with a big swirl mask, not sure.

the akatsuki members are all reli weird. they haf reli freaky powers, including orochimaru who was a member. there's one who cant die even if u chop off his head. tats how weird they are. anyway the mouth on deidara's hand shapes his "works of art" before he throws them down, and i believe the mouth molds his chakra unto the paper stuff he uses for their respective purposes (fly, or explode)

diedaras hands mold clay is team mate is sasori he is a puppet mater
then theres itachi sharingan master his team mate is kisame former seven swordsmen, then theres hidan he is immortal he teams up with kakuzu he as five hearts and to kill him you must kill all. tobi his the one with the spiral mask but he is supposed to be obito, kakashi's friend, he teams up with diedara when sasori dies then theres zetsu he his like a giant venus fly trap. the leader is not known yet but believe to be the 4th hokage and a unknown member haven't seen there face yet
