I've had two similar experiences to what you are talking about. I mean both of them happened often but are very different.

1. When I am about to get ill or sometimes before I go to sleep this happens: It's called Alice in Wonderland Syndrome: I can be walking and feel as if I'm running (even though I know i'm not) Or I could look at my fingers and they'l look really skinny but I know they aren't. It's crazy and I hate how it feels.

2. Sometimes randomly this happens to me. I feel kinda out of my body (but not like out of body experience). I feel like I am looking at myself and watching myself. I feel as if I am looking at the world in a new way. When this happens I also feel like my mind is working better, like I understand things in a different way.
And this feeling is a good feeling, but strange.

Either way they are both normal. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and have had completed some Graduate coursework in Mental Health Counseling. I am completely sane.

Here's how to know if something is wrong: If it affects your life in a negative way then you should seek help.

Hope this helps. Take Care!

Dissociation occurs often in lots of people. A mild form occurs in that all of us walk around with a mental image of who we are, and it's usually an idealised impression of what we believe a person with our voice and background and abilities would have - no one really thinks they're that fat. So the face issue is perfectly common. The keyboard thing is likely to be a different issue, however, most probably due to your typing being a reflex issue so you're not consciously thinking of moving each finger to the appropriate key on the keyboard, other bits of your brain apart from conscious are doing it. It happens all the time and it's part of making it easier for you to do things - try walking up steps and thinking "left foot, right foot" consciously moving up each foot as you actively will it. After you fall a couple of times and break your neck, that's ultimate dissociation.

Yay.

It could be a symptom of dissociative personality disorder. People who have been through severe trauma can disassociate themselves from their bodies, it's a defense mechanism. A way of disconnecting from severe emotional pain.

It's an out of body experience, like floating, dreaming: roll with it..see where it goes when it happens, allow it, don't "think". :)
