Okay, I have heard several people talk about this and I still say it was not a dream, and i think there were a few hints along the way during the film to let you know. the first one would have to be as he (Arnold) was sitting in the chair and telling them what he wanted , he choose the female not from fantasy, but from memory, the second was he wife, name the last time you saw a construction worker with a wife like that!!! that had to be a set up big time! the rest of them kind of all tie in together with Arnold watching the tape of himself telling him that it was all a set up and that he wanted his body back, this explains why the briefcase man took so long to find him, and goes to the story line that he had to have his mind erased so the psychic would not be able to find out his true meanings, even the cabbie was working against and with him. i just don't see how it could have been dream to many other little things that happen to talk about with out taking every ones time

I'd rather think of it as an alternate reality.
