Using a 3d glass u can view a normal tv, but the picture will be hazy and not clear, and u will NOT receive the 3d effect you seek.
3d image are constructed in 2d plains by using various process. In tv...2pairs of the same image are overlaped over each other...using a little ofsets.
The eyeglass u speaks of... reconstructs the colour variations of the twin image into one, and thus generating DEPTH.... a 3rd dimensional effect....for your brain.

normally the newer ones ie not the red and blue of old, are polarized in a way that one eye sees the horizontal only and one sees vertical only and they make the image so one is offset and only in vertical waves and the other image is only in the horizontal waves. tvs are one not able to produce this effect and 2 the shows arent recorded or broad casted with the 3d image.

In order for the glasses to do what they are supposed to do...you must be watching a 3-d movie.....3-d glasses make the 3-movie appear that it is taking place right in front of you, as if you are in the same room or the same space....not in the theater watching the movie......it's fun....
