While there are plenty of hotels in that area, no lodging in Boston is really inexpensive.

If you're willing to give up the convenience of staying nearby and are willing to take mass transit, you could stay further away and either take the T into South Station and either walk (about 1 mile) or ride the Silver Line to the WTC stop.

I work in this area and live in the metrowest suburbs of Boston. It takes about 1 hour each way to commute via commuter rail. You could rent a car as there is plenty of parking near the BCEC, but after you factor in the cost of parking and the rental car charge, you would have been better off staying nearby.

Boston has a wealthy record and a diverse neighbourhood; it has a legacy of arts, lifestyle, and training; Boston has anything for everyone so find what Boston can give you with hotelbye . The three-mile Freedom Trail leads you previous - and into - 16 of the city's key historical monuments and sites. It's easy to follow along with, by the distinct red stones in the sidewalk and by footprints at street crossings. The walk can get you to Old Granary Burying Ground wherever Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock are buried; will take you to King's Chapel Burying Ground, the Boston's oldest cemetery; Old South Meeting House where in actuality the calling speeches of patriots spawned the Boston Tea Party and the Old State House, Boston's oldest community creating and the website of the Boston Massacre.

There'a a Marriot Coutyard on Tremont Street.

Honestly, it will be hard to find an inexpensive hotel.. I mean this is Boston we're talking about.

Actually, there is a Howard Johnson on Boylston Street near Fenway. I heard it is really cheap. A lot of Red Sox fans outside Boston stay there when they come to town.

Try logging into travelzoo.com. I found really cheap rates at some of the nicer hotels in the area. For convenience look for either the Seaport Hotel or the new Hyatt. Both are within walking distance of the BCEC.

I'm not sure how inexpensive it is, but for convenience, they just opened a new Hyatt hotel that is attached to the BCEC.
