Decrease and here is why. the situation has changed and evolved into a civil war. Which side should we be on? We do not have the resources or man power to stop this war. In fact, it could end up as a three way battle should the Kurds jump in. With meddling from Iran and Syria, who would be supporting different sides, this is a bad time to be in the middle, fighting both sides, depending on the day and location. The situation has changed from our original mission. Neither side will allow us to build infrastructure, or if one side does, the other side blows it up. What can we accomplish there anymore? Nothing much. AND beyond that, we STILL haven't equipped all of our troops and vehicles with the correct body armor, or any at all. If you read independent news sites, the troops there know all this, and most want out, or at least to fall back out of the way. This surge is just more smoke and mirrors. Even Bush knows this. I mean, for crying out loud our best friends in the world, the British, are booking, and in fact have draw down their troops to just over only 7000. If you support the troops, you put them in a safer spot. To imagine trying to say that being there makes us here at home safer when Iraq never threatened us here in America (how could they for crying out loud) insults the intelligence of every educated American.

We should pull our troops out of Iraq for the simple reason that what is going on now is civil war - something we have no right to interfere in. How would the US have reacted when we were in civil war if someone would have come in and taken sides? It's time to cut our losses and get out of there for good and if the bad guys win we can always nuke them and to heck with the collateral damage. Enough of our men and women have died over there!

Bush is exactly where he was told he would be before this thing started. Why would he listen now if the message is not what he wants to hear?
