Hmm I wonder if you tried to upgrade the driver for your video card?

I was wondering when this happen or was it always like that? If it was always like that then that is the maximum screen resolution that your video card can do. On my Windows 98 PC The max my video card can go to 800 x 600 16bit True color.

What is your current driver signiture date and what is the video memory.

To Find out more about your video card go to Start->Run->Dxdiag and under video tab

Either you are in the Safe Mode or the computer is using a default driver for your video card. Make sure the video driver is up-to-date. Click the advanced button and make sure that your adapter is set up right.

Have you loaded the correct drivers for the graphic card or maybe you need to get a newer graphic card. They are not that expensive.
