you dont really know you are asleep or unconscious. because it only lasts a second. kind of like surgery. they put you under you dont know when they put you under but then you wake up and they are helping you in the other room.

Like going under a general anesthetic. Fell from fairly high up onto rocky surface, landed on head, memory is clear, no dreams. Woke from it being carried started to sit up realized what was happening flopped back, sat up again then protested, "I CAN WALK", struggled got down a did so, no known brain damage or injury. Neck and shoulders felt a bit tense and slightly painful for a few days. I had no sensation of time, I was told that I was out for perhaps 10 mins or so.

Every time I have lost consciousness, I had the most vivid, bizarre dreams I have ever had. I can still remember the exact dreams to this day, The dreams seemed to start immediately, and lasted the duration of the blackout. These were not from drugs... The first time I was shot, the second was from nailing my head on a rock and the others were from surgeries. So weird.

i was playing tennis with friends and my team won, so my teammate told me to jump the net. I did, but I just hit the tip of it and I landed head-first on the concrete and got knocked out (actually passed out a minute after I woke up). I didn't know anything, including myself, or where I was or anything. I had a mild concussion. 13 weeks and a surgery later (I also broke my collar bone that had to be operated on), I was back to my old self with my friends still bringing it up all the time. It was 2 1/2 years ago....

I got hit by a car once. One minute I was crossing the street, and the next second I was waking up in the hospital with my parents snapping their fingers in my ear and calling my name.

I had no idea how I got there or what had happened. I got to miss school for a few weeks and everyone was nice to me and gave me presents. So, overall, it was a pretty great experience.

Just like sleeping, at least until you wake up and feel the pain.
