Does anyone know if there is a term for a knife fight were both parties are bound together by the arm?

This was one of the "attractions" during Roman times in their Arena's and in Romes Coloseum. Undoubtedly it has some Latin name, but I have no idea of how to find out what it was. It might just be called a duel, a type of duel that was fought before the invention of dueling swords (epees) or guns.
