Phobos (fear) and Deimos (panic) are natural companions of Mars, the god of war. But Uranus, the god of the sky (They were trying to maintain a sequence: Jupiter was the son of Saturn who was the son of Uranus.) was a primitive classical god and didn't have any suitable companions, so they used the fantasy characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Phobos and Deimos are named because they were the lesser godlings who traveled with the Roman God Mars when he went onto a battlefield. Phobos was the godling of fear and Deimos of savagery. Uranus moons are named for his wife and the other old titans.

Mars was the Roman god of war. Phobos (fear) and Deimos (dread) were his dogs, the infamous dogs of war. Uranus was a Titan (Predecessor to the gods), the progenitor of the gods, according to Wikipedia, which would have made him the father of Chronos, or Saturn.

All the planets and their moons are named after characters in Greek and Roman mythology.
Mars, for example, was the God of War, Mars the planet is red which is kinda the color of war (blood and all). As for Uranus's moons......not going there!

because Jesus turned right into a real guy who walked this earth and is not any longer a human beings lore. He would not at all be named after a planet because he created them. the different gods do no longer exist not at all have do not exist and not at all have. I allow you to comprehend what pray to each and each of them for 30 day see if some thing takes position then pray to Jesus and observe what takes position try the mythical gods 1st.

Mars was named after the Greek God of War, most of the planets and planetary satellites are named after something in mythology or whoever discovered it.
