I have a Dell Insprion 4000, and I don't have wireless at home but would like to use the card provided by the hotel while I'm out of town on spring break. What do I have to have on the computer in order to do that?

They probably have a PCMCIA card that fits in the slot on the side or back of your computer. Alternatively, they may have a USB device. Either way, the hotel wireless is pretty easy to use. If you have problems with it there is a toll free number to call. The folks at the desk rarely know anything about the wireless system.

They'll "loan" you the wireless card and you install that into your laptop. This is like a little credit-card sized device that fits into your PC Slot. They should also give you a driver CD if needed.

Once that's installed, you should be able to access the wireless network at the hotel.
