The ATO has a set of "service standards" which are what it considers an acceptable time frame for processing various documents. In the case of manual income tax lodgements the standard is 42 days (for processing) if you are due a refund and have provided the appropriate details then the refund would generally be immediately released to your bank ( manual refunds take 28 days) but it may take a day or so to process at the bank.

If you are using the snail mail you will wait about 4 to 6 weeks. Thay also look at you a bit harder as it would seem that you are a bit slower than everyone else.

Get a tax agent to do it next time , 14 days max and you can claim 100% of their fees next year.

or do a Etax return if you are a wage earner without too many complications to your return.They usually have your return processed in 7 days straight into your bank account.

Youre best to use etax if you can cope with doing it yourself
