Truth? We aren't here. There is no here. There is no we. It is an illusion. The only thing that IS is energy. Everything we see is created inside our own brain from pulses of energy that arrive from our eyes. Our eyes can't see, they can just send vibrations of energy to our brain. The brain makes up the picture that we 'see' as our world. Same for hearing, touch, taste, and smell. It is all made up inside your brain.
So, 'why are we here?' is a moot question.

think about what you are actually asking... you want a reason.. WELL what makes reasons? consciousnesses/brains ...
this is some common remnant of how when kids are 3 they ask "why" for everything... an independant mind was not involved in the evolution of life...
why would there even be a reason? the only time there is a
"why" is when the action in question is of human/primate origin
there is no WHY... there is only a HOW.
"why" implies conscious relation.. as in .. what is the reason we are here.. as in.. what is the goal a consciousness was trying to reach by creating us...
our existence is not an action toward a goal.
there is no "why"... "why" only has meaning between organisms.
the question is how :)
may not seem like a big difference... but its huge.

We are here to glorify God and praise God. God shows off his power, beauty and creativity in his creation. Look at the incredible complexity of your body. Look at the vastness of the universe. Look at the amazing creativity in the universe and in life forms here on earth. Look at the power of the sun which can warm us from 96 million miles away and is big enough to hold a billion earths. Wow. What an awsome God! Here's the most amazing thing -- he cares about you and wants to give you an inheritance! He wants to you to spend eternity with him enjoying his limitless power and wealth.

I believe that we are here to make the world a better place. This can be achieved by honoring and loving God and helping and loving people. We are here temporally, to prepare for our final destination and as we pass through, smell the roses, enjoy life, and bring as much love and happiness to others as possible.

Glory be and behold, each of the three types of existing history is only exactly right for a distinct soil and climate: on every other one it grows up into a ruinous weed. if a man who wants to create greatness uses the past, he seizes upon it for himself by means of monumental history; in contrast, one who is habituated by tradition and custom insists on cultivating the past as an antiquarian historian; and only one whose breast is oppressed by a present need and who wants to cast off his load at any price has a need for critical history, i.e., history which tries and passes judgment. many a harm stems from the thoughtless transplanting of plants: the critical man without need, the antiquarian without piety, and the connoisseur of greatness without the ability for greatness are the sort who are susceptible to weeds, alienated from natural mother earth and thus degenerate growths. while considering that, i am a north wind to ripe figs. lest ye shall not forget, deal with my going.

We are here to build ourselves into responsible adults who add something to the world, large or small. Everyday holds a new chance for us to go forward, learn new things, help others.
