These are not alternative bands, alternative was a label used ten plus years ago to describes non-metal/rock bands, not punk but I love them all. They where considered college or alt/rock, but they are no longer a alternative are they, rather then a marketing ploy to make dumb shits feel like they aren't with the man or their parents they are alternative. These band sucks, this should be labeled I am a college dip ****, who can't tell a musican from a porn star, and I what to hear a repeated phrase.
Alright above I see some metal answers, and a list with okay bands just the wrong songs. Okay Pixies-Where is My mind, Sound Garden-Loud Love, Sonic Youth- Bull in th Heather, Radiohead-fake plastic trees,bends/creep, At the time The Smiths-Shoplifters of the World. to say a song or songs is the best, would be nothing more than an opinion, I like many songs for different reasons, And many different bands as well, i think the answer to your question is better answered as follows, No music Ever sounded as good to me, as the music I listen to........

ac/dc, def leppard, metalicca, great white, poison, bare naked ladies, deep blue something, blue octobor, and finally jackyl these are of the best alternative rock bands i have ever heard.
