Yes, I knew that. You can find a list of famous people who stutter or have overcome their stuttering on the web site for The Stuttering Foundation at www.stutteringhelp.org. They also have a poster with 16 of them on it.

You can also teach yourself to speak slowly during a conversation. Fast talking does not help the person with this condition. It may take years for some and less time for others to learn this but it works. My neighbour told me she had it bad as a child growing up and taught herself not to speed talk no more and she is proud of herself that she was able to control this. I'm a fan of Marilyn Monroe. Told on my good days i look like her. But a slimmer one. Was not aware she had a stutter problem. Ok thats cool. Guess we learn something new everyday.
Take care.

I have the same birthday as Auntie Marilyn (June 1st). I never read she stuttered, what a magnificant way around that! Who was the country western singer who couldn't speak without stuttering, but sang smooth as a dream?

I did not know that! That's really interesting because I was born on Marilyn's birthday, and studied about her life. It is very cool.
