d-wade??? AI??? wilt chamberlain??? not to take anything from them, they're all great ballers in their own right but d-wade and AI are definitely not shooters!!! i mean, cmon!! AI doesn't even shoot over 35% from beyond the arc and to those idiots up there who mentioned wilt, the man plays the center position!!! get your facts straight...wilt didn't score 100 points by shooting 3's!Hell! the 3 point shot wasn't even invented when he made that record!

personally, this is a really intriguing question. drazen petrovic was a really great shooter! reggie miller is one too, larry bird??? percentage wise he didn't even lead the league in 3 points when he was still active, the birdman was a great clutch performer i'll give him that.

i'm wondering how come no one mentions tim legler or rex chapman...these two were really great shooters too.

Let's hear more of this argument...Miller time gets my vote!!!

Probably Reggie Miller. Most of the "pure shooters" needed to have their feet set and be squared up to the basket. Reggie could hit running around screens, falling away, and off balance. He was also one of the great clutch shooters of all time. And this is coming from a Bulls fan.

The top 3 pure shooters I have ever seen play in the NBA were Larry Bird, Steve Kerr, and Paxson. Set up shot would be Kerr, but all around best pure shooter would, in my opinion, go to Bird.

mark price!!! dead shot from anywhere and any angle!! reggie miller is a great shooter but he's not a pure shooter, pure shooters are guys who make their living by shooting beyond the arc, reggie is a cross between a shooter and a scorer.

That is a tough one; there are a few that come to mind, but I'm gonna go with Reggie Miller. That's all he really did was shoot. He could shoot it off the dribble, off the screen, mid range, long range, free throws, and under pressure with the game on the line no one was better! His jumper was good from just about anywhere.

I would have to say Ray Allen, he has the purest shot I have ever seen. There are many great pure shooters, but Ray has the purest shot ever, it's a beauty to watch him shoot.

As my friend put it, "I have an orgy watching him shoot!"

That's a tough one because it is subjective. Modern defences are a lot different than defences in the decades past.

My, highly subjective, answer would be either Rick Barry or Ray Allen.
