i'm not an artist or anything, but i think a different idea might be trying an unusual angle on a still life or something to that effect.

my girlfriend just did a painting of some bottles, for example. i'd try setting up something like that, some objects with some height to them, but set them up on the floor and look down on them from your chair. draw a still life from above. it *might* be more original than some of the obvious things and different from a lot of what other people in the class may do. i dunno.... :)

but drawing a suspension bridge would be pretty cool. i wish i could do that. i have trouble with perspective drawing and never really tried it much, but the concepts are neat.

also, check out several M.C. Escher drawings. he did some amazing perspective studies and is my favorite artist. that might give you some ideas. here are some links to some good drawings of his..... and don't let them intimidate you. he was a brilliant draftsman, absolutely amazing. anyone who could even come close to his technique and imagination is to be looked upon with awe.... lol

"The 'flat shape' irritates me - I feel as if I were shouting to my figures, 'You are too fictitious for me; you just lie there static and frozen together; do something, come out of there and show me what you are capable of!' So I make them come out of the plane." - M.C. Escher

There are tons of good subjects right in your house or school. Look down a hallway and you've got a great example of perspective. Look down a street, walk down the mall, just about everywhere there are good subjects.
