4y=12-3x
divide by 4
y=3-3/4x

since your variable is unknown (x) then you have to keep it in the answer because it is impossible to simplify it anymore if you don't know the value of it

the mistake is if u r dividing by 4 it shud b throughout the whole equation. like y=3-3/4x or y=(12-3x)/4
