what's with all the strange interpretations. Swing is old jazz. And it also refers to the jazz rhythm, which is not mathematical like most other music, but a bit skewed. The lyrics are from a swing song that obviously is saying that swing is the best music.
Which it quite possibly is. All you who don't know it should check it out.

Is this a golfing question? Because I need some pointers.
If I don't get the right swing, it really, really don't mean a thing, and I get tired of telling my golfing friends that I'm practicing before I really hit the ball.

Sure it does, cause when you feel the music and the rhythm you can sure feel the "swing". It's like your soul takes over your body and you dance to it's music.

of course.
its like seeing a hot shirt at A&F you really like and its pink (your favourite color.. for say) so it has a swing and it means a thing.
but there is an identical shirt next to it which is an ugly blue.. so it doesn't mean a thing to you cuz it aint got that swing.
