How do u feel about children being able to sue their parents for passing their genes to them eg sickle cell traits getting together procreating and the child is born with sickle cell or asthmatic people conceiving a child with chronic asthma. I am doing a research paper and just need some more points of views. I appreciate all that participates. Thank you

Unless the parents know that they are deffinitely going to pass on a genetic defect they cant be successfully sued. We have not yet come to the point where the parents DNA is mixed and mapped to sort out the undesirable traits and defective genes that may cause the child physical or mental health problems. If / when that happens and parents still insist in having a baby, knowing there might be a good chance of a defect then they are culpable. The pregnancy should have been terminated. I believe that parents that know they have a defective gene that may or will be passed on should realize that they should get a historectimy / tubalagation. We have friends who have7 kids.
Two of three of the boys and in wheel chairs have MD. The girls do not get it but they are carriers. As soon as it was realized that they had the MD gene they should have opted for sterilization. Back then it wasn't a knowlegable subject.
