Black women who had black babies were sent back to work hours after giving birth. They then prayed that these infants would not be sold to another owner. This inhumanity continued until the government came to their senses and decided to fight for the freedom.

For the baby it would be considered black because of the one drop rule which means that if you have even one drop of black blood then you are black. If the women was white then she could be severely punished but not to the same extent as the Black dad. The Black dad would be considered to have raped the White women since she would never had in the eyes of Whites to have consented to sex. He would of most likely have been killed/lynched as a detail to the other Black slaves.

it depends. if the woman was white, then the black baby would be treated different. If the baby was of a women slave, then it too would become a slave.

If it was the slave owners wife, they probably said it was stillborn and suffocated the poor thing. Have you ever heard of the book/movie Mandingo. Very sad ending.
