HRG stands for Horned-Rimmed Glasses. its a term started by fans in the msg boards. they have come up with lots of interesting nick names for characters and things in the show.

you should check out the boards, lots of cool geeks!(that's an oximoron), spoilers etc.

HRG stands for Horn-Rimmed Glasses - the type that Claire picked for him during the flashback scene in the most recent episode (17). In the early epsiodes, before knowing the surname Bennett, viewers referred to Mr. Bennett as HRG.
