If a plant is unable to get the love it needs it dies and this is the same with people who are obssessed with money and power there is never a time to just let go. Like in indiana Jones one person dies to get the cup of ever lasting life and as he reaches it stays just out of reach and his father says just let it go and the gentle love in his fathers eyes from his lustful eyes tell him to do just that let it go....let it go....

Your life is all you have. If you win, you could improve the lives of many people with all that cash, or not. Either way, you might be both brave and foolish. If you lose, then you have nothing, just the same as the rest us will have when we die. So depending on the risk factor, it might be foolish NOT to risk it.

This man would be the ultimate fool. Money is something that is not even real, it is an illusion. It is paper with some green ink printed on it. It's only value is to make trading easier. It is our reality which was created by our collective lives that gives money its power. Money has no real value, what happens to this man when suddenly a nuclear bomb goes off and he is lucky (or unlucky) enough to survive? People by then will realize that money is nothing but a lie created to control people. Do you think someone will sell you an apple for a thousand dollars when food is next to impossible to find? Only if they are as much a fool as the man who chose to risk his life over any sum of money. Of course the one exception would be to save someone elses life.

To me, brave and money are sorry partners...If he did it for no money he would become a brave hero(don't confuse my answer with the military -that has nothing to do with this man).
I would call him foolish if he has a family and he risks his life for foolish ambition...If he dies...does his family get the money or is it all but plain ole foolishness?
Hi there..On that one q. of mine - the answer(person) I picked and why?

I would call him foolish.
If that risk went wrong, how could he enjoy the billion dollars while dead?
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Now that would depend on his situation:
If he were a death-row inmate, or someone who did not want to be sent to Iraq--he would have nothing to lose by taking on this risk. I'd say he was brave.
If he were just an adicted gambler or stock market junkie, I'd say he was foolish--he'd just be throwing his life away.

A billion dollars is too much to refuse risk.
I might call him smart, or even normal, depending on the level of risk involved.

I do it in a heart beat. Call me brave, foolish, or what you want. A billion dollars is a lot of money.

that cannot be answered without knowing what type of risk.. what is the probability of death?
i bet every person that said brave would say foolish if it was very unlikely they lived.. and vice versa.
people are required to make assumptions in order to answer your question.. and the different peoples assumptions determine there answer to a very large extent.

Money is an essential part in life but not the only aim. Yes, the bottom line is money. But heroics without a cause is foolhardiness. It is best to lay down one's life for a cause.
