how come i cant trade pokemon from fire red to pokemon emerald?if you know can you tell me how?

You can trade between Fire red and Emerald. You'll need to do the following:
1) Beat the Elite 4, complete the missions in islands 1-3 and get the national dex
2) Head to island 1 and talk to Celio
3) Get the Ruby Plate
4) Have the Sapphire plate stolen, go after it the scientist (you'll need both passwords to get in team rockets hideout on island 5)
5) Face the rockets here and get the sapphire plate.
6) Take it back to Celio on island 1 and you can now trade between ruby, sapphire and emerald.
7) If you need maps or anything, serebii.net or psypokes.com are great sties.
