Anxiety Against Pap Smears?

Does anyone here have this anxiety, like reallllllllllly scared to get a pap smear, im so petrified, im gonna need one eventually cuz im 17 but i dont wanna go, im soooo scared, its crazy. :( :(

don't be scared at all. it takes about two minutes, and if your doctor is nice she will kind of talk to you while doing it to take your mind off of the situation. i just had one done last week, and me and my doctor talked about school, and stuff like that.
i used to get scared too, the first time i had to get one. it's not the most pleasant thing in the world but it's no big deal after you get the first one over with.
my mom always told me that it was just like a mechanic looking under the hood of a car, that's the doctors job, and she/he sees that stuff everyday.
Don't worry about it, every woman in the world gets them done. It's a good thing, because if you don't you could end up with ovarian cancer, or other diseases.

Try not to stress about it yet. You don't need one until you are 21 or 3 years after you've become sexually active, according to organizations like the american cancer society. Remember, paps look for HPV and cancerous changes caused by HPV. Just make sure you use condoms when you have sex (if you do), because HPV is transmitted through sexual activity (it is an STD).

nothing bad happens! nothing is painful! the doctor will put you legs up in stirrups. he will look inside, feel inside with gloves on for any abnormalities. then put a speculum in, which just keeps the vagina open. then swabs inside u with a qtip. done. u may feel a little uncomfortble at first but there is ABSOLUTELY nothing to be petrified of.

I WONT SAY IT DOESN'T SUCK BC IT DOES BUT AS A WOMAN IT IS SOMETHING WE HAVE TO DO!! IT IS SOMEWHAT QUICK AND IS VERY NECESSARY. YOU HAVE TO GET NAKED AND COVER UP WITH A SHEET, THE DR COMES IN AND PUTS YOUR FEET IN STIR UPS. WHEN HE PUTS THAT THING TO KEEP YOU OPEN I WONT LIE THERE IS PRESSURE BUT ITS NOT DEADLY. THEN HE TAKES A FEW SWABS, TAKES THE THING BACK OUT AND PUTS HIS FINGERS INSIDE YOU AND FEELS AROUND A BIT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS HOW IT SHOULD BE THEN THAT'S IT YOU ARE DONE! BUT AS A WOMAN IT IS SOMETHING ELSE THAT WE HAVE TO DO TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS COPACETIC!! SO SUCK IT UP, BE A WOMAN AND GO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS!!
