Having your jaw crack can lead to serious problems and should get checked out. But the first place to go is to a dentist. Jaw clicking (or cracking) means that the jaw joint disc is unstable. The disc pops when it spits forward out of place or backwards into place. It's caused by an abnormally shaped disc and can be so loud that it disturbs other people. In most cases, jaw pain is nature's way of letting you know that there's something wrong. Fortunately, most patients with this problem do not have jaw pain and most dentists do not treat it unless pain develops. Patients who have a popping should investigate all of the signs and symptoms of TMJ because they may not be aware of other difficulties their joint problem is causing.

Depends on what is wrong with it. I know a friend who has the same thing. I myself have it as well. We are both in the military and using there medical system we had to go through the dentest for some reason to get it checked out. Depending on what it is surgery might take place.

Do me a favor and don't let this go. My brother yawned one time and his jaw locked open. It had popped out of place and he was just yawning because he was getting tired.
Your jawbone and cheekbone is not designed to sit there and rub or grind on each other. It means that there is something definitely wrong. Let your doctor be the one to decide if there is anything that is seriously wrong with your jaw. Please remain safe, for your sake if not for anyone else.
Thanks!!

It sounds like you may have TMJ. You need to get to your doctor before the severe headaches start.

Weird. Mine cracks all the time, but it don't hurt. I don't know if you can stop it. It's fluid in the joints or something.

I had this when I was younger but it went away ... talk to your doctor, especially if it last more than 3 months.
