Yes, there is. (But only because you are female)
Fraternal twins run in the genes. Identical do not. Fraternal twins happen when your body relaeses more than one ova (egg) at a time.
Fraternal twins passed down from BOTH sides... your chances sound pretty high, but it really all depends on which genes each parent passed on.
Because this is genetic, there are more than 10 times more fraternal than identical twins. And they DO NOT skip a generation (this is an old wives tale)
You are also more likely to have multiple ova released as you age, this means that if you wait until after 30 to get pregnant, your odds increase.
There's a bunch of neat stuff about twins that I show my Grade 11 students on the website listed here. Enjoy!

Faternal twins are hereditary, which means they do run in the family. Identical twins are just by chance. Considering that both of your parents are twins, I would guess that you are very likely to have twins yourself.
Also, twins do NOT skip a generation. It only apears so sometimes because twins only run through FEMALE members of the family. So for instance, your father has no increased chance of having twins (except for the fact that he's having kids with your mom, who on the other hand, does). So it may seem to skip a generation, but doesn't.

Everything that Alexandra said was right on the money, however I would like to add, I believe that faternal twins run on the female side of the family, meaning the females tend to ovulate more than one egg per cycle. My aunt had 2 sets of twins and one of her singleton daughters had a set of twins.. I dont think that male twin has any baring on a female daughter having twins..

A tendency for giving birth to twins runs in the family. This is especially true of fraternal (not identical) twins. It is believed that twins skip a generation - however, this belief has no factual basis and is essentially nothing more than a myth. So if your grandmother or even your mother gave birth to twins, it is possible that you are carrying the gene which causes you to release more than one egg at a time, thus increasing the odds of having twins. This Dizygotic or two-egg twinning gene is passed down from female to female. So if your husband's mother had twins, it doesn't greatly influence the likelihood of you giving birth to twins

Yes there is a chance. Twins run through the womens side of the family. I believe that fraternal twins are genetic and identical twins just happen.

Faternal twins are hereditary. They usually say it skips a generation, but you could have twins. I wouldn't say there is a very high chance, but it is definately possible.

Fraternal twins is caused by 2 different eggs being released and fertilized at the same time. If twins run in your family there is a good chance this could happen to you too. Unless the twins in your family were caused by fertility drugs.

Identical twins are an accident of nature. Fraternal twins are the hereditary type. Be aware you have increased risk, but not a certainty.
