I don't of any specific hotels that attract more US college students than any other hotels persay but there are definetely a lot to choose from! If you want to party and go out a lot, check out hotels near St. Laurent and Crescent Streets. Or you can always choose one of the larger, chain hotels (like the Holiday Inn, Mariott, etc...). These rooms may be a little more expensive but it shouldn't be too bad when split amongst several people. Or last but not least, Montreal has a lot of hostels that you could check out.

Right now, Montreal generate more crime than New-york. There is other cities in canada that worth a visit. Try Quebec city, Toronto, vancouver or sherbrook.

If you still visit Montreal make sure that you don't ware blue or red in the street.

I don't think you get too many spring breakers in Montreal. However I would suggest the Days Inn. It's right downtown, and pretty affordable (~$90CDN/$75USD per night)

With Montreal crime wave, I would sincerely advise you to try a different province of canada. Toronto, niagara falls are peaceful and cool place to go. Vancover is also a place to consider.

A lot of hotels are no accepting reservation from students this time of year because they are afraid that their rooms will be destroyed. Good luck with your search!
