does anyone know of a baby gate that will securely fit a space that is 46"? now that my kiddo's crawling I need to be able to keep him away from the entrance to the house, it's linoleum and he just slides and falls, plus the closet with the furnace is there and he can slide open the door easily. Most baby gates seem made to fit normal sized doorway, which is about 37 inches or so, and even the ones that go up to 45 are stretched all the way out so they're not at all secure. Anyone know of any brands they like?

We had to get a wooden one at Petco. the one we got fits up to 72 inches. It's a life saver. Makes things a lot easier.

Try babies R us, or target has one online only. Many baby stores have a large selection you can choose from. I have one that will reach over 60". Its called the SuperGate V by North States Industries. It's plastic, which is very helpful when you have animals. I have a dog that will chew through the wood one's, so I like this one a lot. We also have a baby on the way, and this will be great to keep the dog and baby in seperate rooms if needed.

Although, most longer safety gates mount directly to the wall, so make sure you either find one that doesn't, or you don't mind doing so.

There is a childrens gear catalog called One Step Ahead. They have a section in there that allows you to order custom made gates. I believe they have a website but I'm not sure. Good luck
