I've got a new violin and it turned out to be smaller than a full size. How can I tell what size it is?

Look in the left f-hole of the violin. There should be a tag in the violin that normally has all the information written down about the violin. If there isn't a tag, you can take it to a violin shop and they should know immediately what size it is.

I don't really know how to tell what size it is by just looking at it, but I do know that a 1/2 to 3/4 size is roughly the same as a 13-14 inch viola. Did that help?
