It seems all rich left environmentalist believe they can buy carbon credits. From whom....From me...can I give up my SUV as directed by them out of conscious on my part not theirs. It seems to them they can go on living their elaborate life style, but I am suppose to freeze in my house, buy a hybrid...I guess make two trips if I have a big family. While they act as though they are holier than though. Doesn't this sound like Communism...talking to people who came from Russia it sure does.

The middle class is supposed to make all kinds of sacrifices so the rich can get richer: decent wages, decent jobs, job security, health care...the list goes on. Trickle down economics, have you heard of it? Republicans insist on huge tax breaks for their favorite constituents, the wealthy, but say we'll all be better off for it because the rich will reinvest in the US and create more jobs. Yeah, sure, they're investing in foreign countries, not the US, and we've lost 3 million manufacturing jobs in the last 6 years. Middle class wages have stagnated while CEO compensation has ballooned to as much as 400 times that of the average worker. Are you just noticing these inequities now that the Dems are taking over? Giving up a theoretical SUV is nothing next to losing your job to some subcontractor in India who will do your work for a few rupees a day, and this has largely been happening under the rule of the anti-environment GOP.

No sir, this is not communism. And if "the rest of the global warning crowd" is lying or mistaken, they sure have a lot of company. That company happens to include hundreds of thousands of the world's best scientists. You telling us you know more than this vast crowd of highly educated, exceptionally intelligent men and women? Sorry, I ain't buyin' it!

I don't think it matters how much material wealth Al Gore has. I think his message is sincere. He wants to save the planet which definitely needs our attention.
