I'll list the cheap things first... Then move to the major problems that it COULD be.... If you haven't had the Coolant system serviced and flushed... Try that for starters... There also could be some blockage in the coolant system somewhere ( which could also cause the intermintent heater action ). Also when/if you have your coolant system flushed, ask the technician or whoever's doing it, if there is any oil type substance in your radiator fluid... If that's the case.... Then you got BIGGER problems. I've owned Dodge's all my life. I've had 2 Dodge Dakotas, one a 1994 and a 2000, a 1996 Dodge RAM 1500 and a 1996 Dodge Neon. The Neon, the RAM and the 94 Dakota all gave me head cylinder problems. Usually the story goes... Once you overheat a Dodge... Expect to get new heads.... And with all my dodges I had the same problem... Kept overheating even after changing the water pump, thermostat, etc... I sounds like the possibility of a cracked head or (if your lucky) just a blown head gasket... But even then, you have to worry about the heads being warped... A major repair shop can let you know... I hope this helped you out....

I know you said you have no leaks, but have you actually pressure checked the system? You could have a head gasket leaking into the cylinder and not know it. Have you replaced the radiator cap? Also even though you replaced the water pump and thermostat they could also be defective out of the box. It happens. I'm not sure, but a temperature sending unit or temperature sensor could also be bad.

Overheating complications might want to correctly be the reason of most stuff. Being 2 quarts low on oil may have little to do with overheating although, offered it replaced into fairly 2 quarts low, begs the question the position did all that oil bypass. issues to envision: Coolant think about overflow bottle as well as radiator at the same time as engine is chilly. examine operation of fan snatch and/or electric powered radiator cooling followers(s), thermostat, condition of radiator (clogged). even if it truly is low on coolant discover the leak and fill up with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and anti-freeze/coolant. the different complications require various degrees of mechanical flair. try and examine what you sense tender doing and take something to a depended on mechanic.
