I dont know if I should put heat or ice on my throat to help it. I have been drinking sprite all day and i ate some ice cream. I think I have tonsillitis but im not sure. It hurts to swallow, laugh, burp, cough, just about anything that does something to your throat. I really need some advice/help..something to help me out until i go to the doctor tomorrow. Please and Thank you.

Most likely you have strep throat. You doctor will give you an anti-biotic and tell you to gargle with warm water and salt. You won't feel better untill about 2 days after taking meds. Double up on the pain medication; take 2 ibuprofin, 2 tylenol, 2 aleve & 2 asprin. Not all at once but if the first two don't work then take 2 of the next untill you feel a little relief. I had this in Dec for the first time and it was the worst. Get well soon!

The doctor is you best bet.
Until then...Chloraseptic (throat spray) is nice, not perfect, but it helps. Ice or heat probably won't help much. If you don't have trouble with ibuprofen, then you can take a dose to help with pain and swelling. Stick with soft foods and liquids. Best of luck.

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Eat a small piece of ginger root and go see your doctor if it does not clear up in a day or two

gargel with raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar, get it at the health food store, or maybe your super market carries it, but it has to be the unpasturized stuff.
