T-mobile and Cingular are GSM technology, the phone must be unlocked to work between GSM carriers.

Sprint and Verizon are CDMA technology.

You can not use a GSM phone on verizon. As for Sprint phone you will need to check with verizon if they can active it.

With Sprint you can, but not T-Mobile's or Cingular's. For Verizon and Sprint are CDMA phones and the other 2 companies are GSM, so only the GSM phones can work on eachothers networks, but with verizon and sprint your screwed with transferring phones between networks.
