Can anyone tell me the streak of a sapphire? and if you found it on a website please add it.?

Sapphire (corundum) being much harder than the streak plate does not leave any streak. What you see left behind is a trail of powdered ceramic tile which the sapphire has gouged out of the streak plate as it has been pulled across the surface. Wash and dry the plate after the test and you will be able to clearly see the groove the sapphire has cut.
