Mayella said that she asked Tom Robinson to break up the chiffarobe, but then he hit her and tried to rape her. She also says that Tom ran away when he saw Bob come by. So Bob ran to get help without even checking on her. What really happened was that Mayella tried to kiss Tom, but her father found out and beat her, and tried to blame Tom for her actions.

Mayella claimed that Tom Robinson came in to break up the Chiffarobe and then he tried to kiss her and hold her and rape her. That's when her father walked by. What really happened was that when Tom finished breaking up the wardrobe, Mayella pinned HIM against the wall and tried to make out with him, but if her father found out she was trying to kiss a black man she'd be in trouble.

Mayella says she offered Tom a nickle to bust up some kindling and when she went into the house to get the nickle, he raped her...off course, she lied, even claiming he hit her after first saying he didn't.
