There are 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets in our solar system.
The planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Astronomers are arguing about it, though.

since pluto is no longer a planet there is 11 planets there would be 12 if pluto was still a planet.

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune Pluto, Charon & 2003UB313. Pluto is still there poor little Pluto, how could they disown it like that just cause it was little!!!

Before you asked, a lot of people asked the same question. They are 11. Mercury to Neptune as we know (8) and three newly discovered ones, Sedna, UB 313 and Ceres (previously considered asteroid).

Last I heard still nine. Apparently Pluto gets some kind of appeal process.
