There are 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets in our solar system.
The planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Astronomers are arguing about it, though.

since pluto is no longer a planet there is 11 planets there would be 12 if pluto was still a planet.

Before you asked, a lot of people asked the same question. They are 11. Mercury to Neptune as we know (8) and three newly discovered ones, Sedna, UB 313 and Ceres (previously considered asteroid).
