I know serious acting positions aren't going to be impressed by modeling, it's just an industry thing. no modeling and no commercials on your resume.
Acting and Modeling are very big fields and it's difficult to become famous in either one. Modeling you have to be very beautiful and unique looking. I'd recommend looking for an agent. They're going to be honest about whether or not you have what the industry is looking for at the moment and you'll need an agent to get bookings anyway.
Acting is a two-pronged route. The best actors never become famous, so if fame is your goal I'd recommend some basic film acting courses and then moving to LA, where the action is (when you're older, of course). If you want to act because you like it as an art form then I recommend you study it and audition for a theatre program at Juilliard or Yale. That's where you'll really learn how to act. Most people in Hollywood can't act with demanding scripts anyway, they're just pretty faces.
Best of luck, whatever you do. I recommend you join thespians in High School. It'll give you a healthy respect for everything that goes into a performance, plus it's fun.
And I'd recommend you stay away from "Cattle Calls"--where a studio, acting or modeling, says "Come to the Blank Hotel from 7am to 4pm on July 12th, we're looking for new talent to appear on television/print ads!" They can draw in thousands of people and they're really just used by the advertising industry to drum up hype. I'm an advertising major, I know. You'd be best to look for an agent who can assess what jobs are right for you individually.

Well know first its a long shot and work from there.

That means, make sure you have a plan b. Keep acting and modeling as hobby basis.

To be better at them, look what the pros do? Read good books. Watch good movies.

Also respect yourself. Know that Hollywood is full of scum ready to exploit the unwarey by making promises they cannot or will not keep.

Have fun but don't give up on the studies just yet.
