Teachers - I am a student myself, so I know what they have to put up with.

Firemen - So much risk, so little pay.

EMT/Paramedic - Not as much glory as doctors, but responsible for saving even more lives.

Writers/Artists/Musicians - Somebody has to do this, or life would be so boring for the rest of us. It isn't easy to make a living, either.

Soldiers and police officers could go either way. They are mostly good, noble people, but then you get the occasional oddball that just likes guns and killing.

So basically, I respect people that do low-paying jobs by choice, in order to make society better.

1. The armed forces. They are doing work that is incredibly dangerous and they risk their lives for our liberty every day! Whether or not you agree with the conflict they are in, you have to respect the job they do!
2. The police department. They could never get paid enough to deal with the kinds of things they deal with. From the mischievous teenagers to the dangerous criminals, they protect our safety and the safety of our personal property, at risk of great harm to themselves.
3. The fire department. The common person runs away from a burning building - these uncommon heroes risk their own safety for the good of others.

This is a little different but I admire people who have lost there jobs lately, especially with all the automotive plant closings. Looking for a job is the hardest, most thankless, difficult job anyone will ever have.

I admire teachers, because they have to deal with so many factors that try to pull their attention away from the actual job of teaching. They still manage to handle everything, and get the job done well! It must be long hours and hard work to teach our future leaders!

Health care! It requires such unconditional respect for the dignity of humanity. To be a Nurse especially! The ones who perform the daily drudgery of feeding, changing, washing, brushing teeth and hair! God Bless them all!!
