A house is always a better investment than a condo, especially with re-sale, as I have witnessed frequently from relatives and friends who have tried to sell their condo.....plus, condo fees might be $200 today and $400 two years from now....

I'd rather live in a good neighborhood too,

Good luck!

Option 2. You will SERIOUSLY regret buying a condo. Talk to some independant real estate agent or something and listen to the horror stories.

I want Option 2.

Houses are so much more civilized to live in, and a nice neighborhood is worth it.

Who knows, if your family expands, you can build an addition later.
